At Outdoor Designer Store we absolutely love landscape design and outdoor living. That’s why we jumped at the chance to visit Barbara Landsberg of Landsberg Garden Design.
It was a gorgeous sunny Sunday when we caught up with Barbara to check out her amazing, natural garden design in Withycombe, a 120 year-old garden in the Blue Mountains.
Boy were we impressed!
We immerse ourselves in outdoor ‘scapes regularly, but this was so different to the urban gardens we’re accustomed to. It was awe-inspiring, raw beauty steeped in history. Every twist and turn had its own unique beauty to offer, with places to stop and enjoy the peacefulness of the great outdoors around every corner.
The climate in the Blue Mountains allows for hydrangeas, rhododendrons, Spanish oak trees and many other European style climate plants to thrive – and thriving they are at Withycombe. The hydrangeas are as big as your head and the Stargazing lillies are about as tall as the average person, which gives you a little perspective into the enormous scale and expanse of the gardens (all 8-acres of them!).
The uniqueness of the Garden echoes the philosophy of Landsberg Garden Designs,
Every Client is different, every site is different. We aim to sensitively honour and express both.
For a look at the stunning raw beauty in this garden you can watch the interview by Costa for Gardening Australia – get ready to swoon!
